A woman in a moment of quiet recognition

Recognition

You already understand it.

And it still runs your life.

You've done the therapy. You can explain your childhood, your patterns, your triggers. You know exactly why you are the way you are — and you are still exactly the way you are.

Insight told you why.
It never told you whose.

The pattern isn't a flaw. It's a message.

Something in your system is still waiting to be seen.

It isn't just you. And it didn't only begin with you.

The Work

Three doors. One way through.

We start where you are. We use what the moment asks for.

01

Family Constellations

You see it.

The system shows you what's been running underneath — the loyalties, the losses, the person no one names. What was invisible becomes obvious.

02

Somatic EMDR

Your body lets it go.

Understanding lives in the mind. This lives in the nervous system. Here, the body finally finishes what it never got to finish.

03

Intuitive Guidance

You live differently.

Insight is not the point. Change is. This is where what you saw becomes how you actually live.

Most people begin with one and find the others when they're needed. I'll tell you honestly where to start.

Also offered: grief companioning · group constellations · doula & birth support · practitioner support.

A woman beginning to soften and let go

How this works

Three steps.
Nothing hidden.

One

We talk.

Thirty minutes on Zoom. You tell me what's happening. I tell you honestly whether I can help — and if I can't, who can. Free.

Two

We look.

We find where it actually lives. In your body. In your family. In the parts of the story that were never told.

Three

You put it down.

What was never yours goes back where it belongs. What is yours, you carry differently.

Prema Buitrago

Meet Prema

I don't work with pain from a distance.

I've been where it lives.

For ten years I worked in Colombia's conflict zones, with people who had lost their homes, their land, their families — everything but their lives. I learned something there I've never been able to unlearn: pain doesn't disappear when we stop speaking about it. It goes underground. And then it surfaces in the next generation.

I've also sat on the other side of it. I've been the one grieving. I've been the one carrying something my family wouldn't name. I've been the one who almost didn't make it. I don't ask you to go anywhere I haven't been.

"Talking is an overrated way to teach. I'd rather walk it."

Honesty first

Is this for you?

I'd rather be honest now than waste your time later.

This is for you if —

  • You've done therapy. It helped. You're still stuck.
  • You suspect what you're carrying didn't start with you.
  • You're grieving something you're "supposed to be over."
  • You hold other people for a living — and have nowhere to put your own weight.
  • You want the truth more than you want comfort.

This is not for you if —

  • You're in crisis right now. You need urgent care first — please reach out to emergency services or a crisis line, and come back when you're steady.
  • You're under psychiatric care for a condition that needs clinical containment (unless your clinician is on board — I'm glad to coordinate).
  • You want a diagnosis, a prescription, or a protocol. That's not what this is.
  • You're here to fix someone else. This work only moves through the person in the room.

I turn people away. Not often — but I do. It's part of the job.

Questions

Honest answers.

Is this therapy?

No. I'm a facilitator and practitioner, not a licensed psychotherapist, and this is not a substitute for psychological or medical treatment. Many of my clients see a therapist and work with me — the two do different things well. If what you need is clinical care, I'll tell you, and I'll help you find it.

Does it really work over Zoom?

Yes. I've watched it work across continents. The system doesn't need you in the same room — it needs you present, and someone who knows how to hold what shows up. Many people find it easier at home: you're in your own space, and there's less to perform.

Do I need to bring my family?

No. You come alone. Always. The work moves through you — not through them.

I don't know much about my family history. Does that rule me out?

No. Most people don't. What you don't know, your body often does. We start with what's here.

What if I fall apart?

You won't be alone in it. And you won't be left there. I don't open anything I'm not prepared to help you close before we finish.

Do I have to believe in anything?

No. Bring your skepticism. It's welcome. This doesn't ask for your belief — only your honesty.

What language do we work in?

English or Spanish. Whichever your body speaks.

What does it cost?

We'll talk about it on the call. I hold a sliding scale, and I keep space for people who can't pay full fee. I believe mental health is a right, not a purchase.

You've carried it long enough to know its weight. Now let's find out how much of it was ever yours.
